PRESIDENT Obama, Racism, and Presidential term

I have held off on making this post as I thought it was premature. After the recent New York Post cartoon posted above, I could wait no more, It is clear that the call to assassinate the President of the USA has been made, and by the New York Post!

It seems that many people of color instantly recognize this as racist, while white people who have not experienced racism, remain in denial. As a Mexican American, it looks to me as a call for the assassination of President Obama. Clearly the text refers to the President's Economic Stimulus. I see less of a connection between the chimpanzee killed than President Obama in this cartoon.

To add insult to unjury, it seems many (white) news analysts even have trouble saying "President", before "Obama" , often referring to the President as "Barack Obama". It appears to me that I have seen several instances in the media recently where mostly people of color keep correcting sometimes even the CNN analysts with "President Obama" in the case of the historian that appeared on CNN tonight in reference to the Cartoon from the New York Post. Later that Night at 8:39 ET again President Obama was referred to AGAIN as "Barack Obama" , again on CNN within 1/2 hour of the first time.

I now feel much more certain that President Barack Obama , will be assassinated in office. That is not what I want but if he dies in office his death will add momentum to the equality movement, not only in the USA, but worldwide, as I do not recall in my lifetime, ever seeing a US President that was so loved Internationally.

If I am right about President Obama being assassinated in office, I hope that The New York Post, and the Cartoonist are held responsible in part, much in the way that Tom Metzger's White Aryan Resistance (WAR) was held responsible for the death of Ethiopian immigrant, Mulugeta Seraw. Metzger and his son John had incited these Skinheads to murder Seraw, much in the same way that the New York Post seems to be inciting the assassination of a President. Clearly the president is open for political parodies, but did we ever see caricatures of other Presidents in the New York Post being shot? I think not, and I am a firm believer that this is nothing more than a call for an assassination of the first President of color ever in the USA. Any person wanting to put an end to racism, would do right in boycotting the New York Post.
